Cadena SER confirms its absolute lead with almost five million listeners

Cadena SER has seen its listenership grow and has confirmed its absolute lead in Spanish radio with 4,705,00 listeners daily, according to official EGM data from the third quarter of 2008.

SER rules the airwaves around the clock, seven days a week. Hoy por Hoy, with Carles Francino, confirms its position as the most-listened-to radio program in Spain, with 2,771,000 listeners.

La Ventana with Gemma Nierga also confirms its top position with 751,000 listeners. Hora 25 has enjoyed a significant boost in audience. The program, anchored by Angels Barceló, registered 1,476,000 listeners, up 153,000 over the previous quarter. Also up  is Hora 14, with 600,000 listeners. El Larguero with Jose Ramón de la Morena confirms its absolute lead among sports programs, with 1,244,000 listeners, almost a million ahead of its nearest rival. Hablar por Hablar and  Si amanece nos vamos maintain their absolute leadership as well.

Cadena SER also enjoys a lead at the weekend. A Vivir que son dos días, with Montserrat Dominguez, has seen audiences climb to 1,672,000 on Saturday and 1,541,000 on Sunday. Carrusel Deportivo, with Paco González and Pepe Domingo Castaño and Manolo Larra, has almost 2,000,000 listeners on Saturday and 2,230,000 on Sunday, an increase of 600,000. Los Toros, with Manolo Moles and Milenio 3, with Iker Jimenez, are also up.

All SER's music stations have seen audiences rise

40 Principales remains Spain's leading music radio station with 3,586,000 listeners, up 130,000 over the previous quarter. Its daytime program Anda Ya, with Frank Blanco, has 1,802,000 listeners, making it the leading music radio slot, and the second-most listened-to radio program in Spain, Monday to Friday, beaten only by Hoy por Hoy, with Carles Francino.

Cadena Dial has witnessed the biggest climb in in audience figures with 200,000 new listeners. M-80 Radio has 560,000 listeners daily. Máxima FM beats its own record with 458,000 and Radiolé has 492,000.
