With a 10% growth and 4,624,000 listeners, Cadena SER is once again Spain´s most-listened-to radio network

According to the last results of the EGM (Spain´s across-the-board media study), Cadena SER´s audience grows and is once more Spain´s most-listened-to radio network. All of its programmes are audience leaders in their corresponding time slots, hitting the year off as Spain´s number one radio network with 4,624,000 listeners, more than 10% in regards to the last wave of results. 

Carles Francino is once again Spain´s example of journalistic excellence and has managed a 6.6% increment in his audience. Hoy por Hoy is still Spain´s top radio programme, with 2,854,000 daily listeners.

AFTERNOONS, EVENINGS AND WEEKENDS ALSO BELONG TO CADENA SER

Cadena SER radio presenters Gemma Nierga and Ángels Barceló both lead their corresponding timeslots. Their programmes, La Ventana and Hora 25, have both seen an increment in their number of listeners. La Ventana reaches 831,000, meaning a 24% growth, and Hora 25 steps up to 1.329.000 (a 23% increase).

Hora 14, the news hour presented by José Antonio Marcos, is the afternoon´s most-listened-to programme, having enjoyed an increase of 583,000 listeners.

The programmes Hablar por Hablar and Si amanece nos vamos lead the late-night and early-morning hours. The first of the two, presented by Macarena Berlín, has 473.000 listeners, while the latter is listened to by 135,000 people, meaning a 36% increment.

Spaniards chose to spend their weekends as well with Cadena SER. This time around, A vivir que son dos días, presented by Montserrat Domínguez, acquires even more listeners and distances itself even further from its runner-up. The show has reached 2,149,000 listeners on Saturdays (29% growth), while on Sundays more than 1,771,000 people tune in (21% growth).

The Cadena SER´s weekend news, presented by Esther Bazar, is also the most listened to programme in its timeslot with an audience of 464,000 listeners on Saturdays and 379,000 on Sundays.

The film programme La Script, presented by María Guerra, sums 243,000 listeners. Milenio 3 reaches 478,000 listeners. Los Toros, presented by Manolo Molés, is listened to more than 322,000 people.

CADENA SER´S SPORTS PROGRAMMES MAINTAIN THEIR LEADERSHIP. THE PROGRAMMES 'EL LARGUERO' AND 'CARRUSEL DEPORTIVO' SECURE THEIR NUMBER ONE STATUS AND FURTHER THEMSELVES EVEN MORE FROM THEIR COMPETITORS

El Larguero, with José Ramón de la Morena,  is the number one listened-to sports programme on radio, while Carrusel Deportivo, with Manu Carreño y Ponseti, steps up considerably, both programmes leaving their immediate competitors far behind.  El Larguero, with an audience of 1,107,000, grows 8% more in regards to the previous study. Carrusel Deportivo, the weekends top sports programme, continues growing, with 1.690.000 listeners on Saturdays. On Sundays, nearly two million people tune in.

PRISA RADIO´S MUSIC STATIONS ARE STILL AUDIENCE FAVORITES

40 Principales reaches new landmarks: with more than four million listeners, it consolidates itself as Spain´s music leader. Anda Ya (a 40 Principales programme), presented by Frank Blanco, is the most-listened- to music radio show, experiencing a 15% increment and reaching an audience of 2,078,000.

Cadena Dial, with 2.307.000 listeners, is the country´s second most-listened-to  music radio programme.  Atrévete, it´s morning show presented by Óscar Martínez, maintains a faithful audience of 1,117,000 listeners.

Máxima FM consolidates itself as well, obtaining 791.000 listeners.  Dani Moreno, presenter of the morning show El Gallo Máximo on this station, helps wake up more than 325.000 people every morning.

The audience has well-received  the changes in M80 Radio´s programming, considering the fact that the station now has 545.000 listeners, 11% more than the last results.

Radiolé is also an audience leader when it comes to Spanish popular folklore music, with more than 488.000 listeners.

THE FIRST WAVE OF RESULTS FOR 2012 OF THE EGM REVEAL A GENERALIZED GROWTH IN RADIO CONSUMPTION IN SPAIN. 65% OF SPANIARDS LISTEN TO THE RADIO DAILY, WHILE 8 OUT OF 10 TUNE IN SOME TIME DURING THE MONTH.
