Cadena SER reaffirms its commitment to its audience as a new season gets underway

01-09-2008

Cadena SER has unveiled its new schedules for the 2008-2009 season during the program Hoy por hoy. Program anchor Carles Francino stressed "the importance of the warmth and closeness of the relationship between station and audience, a hallmark of SER since it first started broadcasting and something we've tried to improve on continuously over the years." Francino also announced that the writer Elvira Lindo, the presenter Ana García Siñeriz and Ana Guantes (anchor of La ventana del verano) would be joining Hoy por hoy.

Another of SER's flagship programs, La ventana, is committed to continuity and will not be undergoing any great changes. Program anchor Gemma Nierga said that the new season gets underway with the goal of "making better radio than ever before and of providing entertainment that will distract the listener from the crisis."

Àngels Barceló is back with Hora 25, and will be broadcasting a brand-new Hora 25 internacional via all the stations under the Unión Radio umbrella. Barceló said the new show "would be more than a talk show; we're going to try to bring together themes which matter to all of us, wherever we live, wherever we are."

José Ramón de la Morena will be back in his evening slot, where his El larguero is the indisputable audience leader. De la Morena, who'll also provide a daily opinion piece for Hoy por hoy, revealed there would be a number of innovations: "There are sure to be. El larguero is a program which we work on every evening and which we never finish till the last minute." After this program, it's the turn of one of SER's classics, Hablar por hablar, with Cristina Lasvignes.

Weekends remain the same, with A vivir que son dos días, anchored by Montserrat Domínguez, celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. Meanwhile, Carrusel deportivo brings Santiago Cañizares on board as a commentator. After all the hard work during the European Cup in Austria and Switzerland, and the Olympic Games in Beijing, the sports program aims to remain faithful to its commitment to rigor and entertainment. Also back are Milenio 3, broadcast only on Saturdays (from 1am to 4am) and Los Toros, with Manolo Molés.
