Cadena SER revolutionizes the way people consume radio

30-10-2014

The proliferation of digital devices and platforms is changing the way users consume radio; according to IAB’s First Online Radio Study, 82.7% of Internet users listen to online radio. Cadena SER is committed to responding to the needs of society, especially those arising from the new digital world. That’s why, as of today, SER is set to become not merely a radio station but a multi-device and multi-format social environment as well, one that embraces phones, tablets, the internet and social networks.

This transformation puts SER at the forefront of 21st-century media: it’s an enhanced radio product, one that is more competitive and involves the whole structure of the network. The transformation includes a redesigned Cadenaser.com, greater user participation and dialogue, mobility and viral content, digital presence for all content and programs -- a product in itself -- and digital skills training for all professionals. An innovative transformation project that delivers a 360º radio experience to Cadena SER users

The highlights of the transformation

New design that facilitates easier navigation, and a hierarchical organization of content, offering a cleaner, friendlier visual experience and more intuitive navigation.

Radio you can see. More audiovisual content, plus more in-house videos and images.

More participation and dialogue -- with the users placed center stage and seen as crucial to the conversation. In addition, users are invited to evaluate the content offered by the website.

More mobile. Mobile phones are becoming increasingly important as a device for both listening and participation. That’s why we have created the Cadenaser.com mobile site and PlaySER, a responsive audio management center allowing listeners / users to manage playlists and favorites.

Structured by themes -- meaning SER content is organized by topic. Thus, the user will find all the material (lead story, related news, audio, video, photos and reviews) grouped together around a common theme.

A new concept of live radio with a flexible website that allows broadcasts to go live whenever required, providing a complete communication experience.

Constantly evolving to adapt to new and changing digital news and information consumer habits.Listeners will be noticing further changes over the coming months, all aimed at adapting the website to the way they consume news and information.
