04-11-2009

Cuatro launches, on Wednesday, November 4, play cuatro, a WebTV service which allows users to enjoy their favorite TV programs on their computer for free. The channel's top programs can be viewed in full, either while being broadcast in real time or a la carte.

In line with the the look and feel of the channel, play cuatro is a visually exciting and user-friendly WebTV service. With play cuatro, users will be able to enjoy a real  TV experience online. What's more, they'll also be able to share, via social networking sites or by email, their favorite programs - either in full or by selecting the excerpts they like most.

Among the programs available in the first phase of play cuatro are: El hormiguero, Fama ¡a bailar!, Pekín Express, Granjero busca esposa, Callejeros, Callejeros Viajeros, Cuarto Milenio, Supernanny, Desafío Extremo and Hay alguien ahí.

Ten hours of live TV every day

Users can watch Cuatro's broadcasts live every day between 12.45pm - when Las mañanas de Cuatro begins -  to 10.30pm - when El hormiguero finishes. The channel's 24-hour news service, CNN+, is also available, as well as many sports and entertainment events exclusive to Cuatro.

Four years of Cuatro

This new online initiative comes as the station celebrates four years on air. With play cuatro, the channel once again proves its commitment to innovation, thus reinforcing and complementing its web portal cuatro.com, which has seen its monthly user rate double since a redesign in April of this year. Equally successful is the station's Youtube channel at www.youtube.com/cuatro, where Cuatro is the audience leader among general-interest TV channels and ranks number two among all Youtube channels watched in Spain.

The revolution in television-viewing habits has enormous repercussions for advertisers and play cuatro offers a wide variety of options for multimedia publicity integrated in video, enabling users to enjoy content while allowing advertisers to promote their brands nd products subtly - thus striking an ideal balance.
