EL PAÍS and Jot Down team up to publish a monthly magazine and web content

17-07-2015

EL PAÍS and contemporary culture magazine Jot Down have joined forces to create Jot Down Smart, a monthly magazine that is to be sold with the newspaper on the first Sunday of the month, starting October. The new magazine, published by Jot Down, will follow the same editorial line as the parent magazine, launched in 2011: the promotion of culture and ideas without losing sight of entertainment and the guarantee that each story will get the space it deserves. The new EL PAÍS supplement will boast the same writers as in the current digital and print editions and will share the elegant graphic look that characterizes the publishing house, summed up in the slogan: "Put them all in black and white, each reader will recognize their own".

EL PAÍS and Jot Down are also teaming up in the digital world. In addition to the print edition, Jot Down is to publish, starting September, two articles a day on the EL PAÍS website. Both publications will thus be providing content for all those looking for a long, quiet read and for whom analysis and humor are not mutually exclusive terms. In addition, EL PAÍS readers will also have access to the extensive interviews offered by Jot Down, one of the strengths of the publication. Here, politicians, musicians, scientists, journalists, filmmakers, entrepreneurs, photographers, writers, philosophers, artists and athletes talk openly, conveying the climate of trust that exists between interviewer and interviewee.

With Jot Down Smart, EL PAÍS adds to its weekend offer a high quality product closely that will appeal to its readers. Jot Down, one of the few digital media that has managed to launch and grow during the worst crisis that the sector has known, now has 800,000 readers a month for its digital version, according to Google Analytics. EL PAÍS reached an audience of 14 million unique users worldwide last May, according to Comscore (only traffic from PCs).
