EL PAÍS and Tutellus sign deal to boost video-based study

29-02-2016

A new era is underway for online learning. And MOOC (massive open online courses) and video-based study are here to stay. This market accounted for more than 100,000 million dollars (90,750 million euros) in 2015, according to Forbes magazine. Now, in a move that is set to strengthen the sector, El País has signed an agreement with Tutellus, the most important Spanish-language online learning platform, to provide educational content in audiovisual format. The video-based courses are available at the El País website. The initiative is already up and running, accessible at Formación de EL PAÍS and elpais.tutellus.com.

This learning method allows users to study from home, offers video lectures and seminars from leading teachers and tutors, and lets students share experiences, projects or concerns with other students from anywhere in the world through the Internet. "At Tutellus we are both delighted and proud to provide more than 60,000 video-based courses, content and services to readers of El País”, said Miguel Caballero, CEO of the company. "We are only beginning to realize the infinite possibilities opened up by online education for all."

The market for online education has undergone enormous transformation in recent years due to the impact of online platforms. And everything indicates that online learning will become an everyday activity for all of us: in Spain alone, every month, more than 100,000 new students start online courses, consuming an average of 3 hours per week in areas such as Technology, Marketing, Entrepreneurship and Languages.
