EL PAÍS joins the Circle of Friends of Cervantes Institute

The newspaper EL PAÍS has joined the Circle of Friends of the Cervantes Institute (Instituto Cervantes) as a collaborator, thus enabling both entities to develop a framework for cooperation on initiatives aimed at the widest possible dissemination of Spanish language and culture worldwide.

This is the first time a media group has joined the Circle of Friends of the Institute, which is made up of companies and agencies who collaborate on the Cervantes Institute’s initiatives worldwide to promote Spanish language and the culture of Spanish-speaking countries.

The agreement will see the Cervantes Institute and EL PAÍS working together to organize conferences and workshops with writers in Spanish cities and foreign capitals "to boost the strength of the Spanish language and culture". Another planned joint initiative will see EL PAÏS collaborate on the project  Practicaespañol  providing reports, interviews and a wide range of multimedia materials.
