Eva Cebrián, new director of PRISA Radio’s music stations in Spain

[ES][OR] Eva CebriánEva Cebrián has been appointed as the new director of PRISA Radio’s music stations in Spain. This move will strengthen the structure of Spain’s leading radio company, allowing it to robustly address the challenges arising from the digital revolution, technological developments, new content platforms and social media, which have transformed the way we listen to music. Cebrián will report to radio channel SER and PRISA Radio’s managing director in Spain, Vicente Jiménez.   

One of the new director’s major goals will be to boost the standing of PRISA’s music shows, strengthen its leading station 40 Principales as a great hub for pop culture, come up with innovative content and format, overhaul the channel’s human resources and technological systems, and roll out high-value events and initiatives aimed at increasing audience numbers and revenue from music products.

Eva Cebrián has the talent, knowledge and experience needed to successfully meet this challenge”, said Vicente Jiménez.Eva Cebrián has had a long career in executive positions in various companies, above all in the media sector, focusing on music, audiovisual and digital projects. She is now taking on responsibility for 40 Principales, Cadena Dial, Maxima FM, M80 Radio and Radiolé, which together have 7,339,000 listeners, in an appointment that marks her return to the world of radio. She previously worked at SER for nine years from 1993, as director of 40 Principales in Catalonia and the Balearic Islands, and the music station’s deputy director at national level. She was also the director of syndicated programmes, working in this post to spearhead the development and sale of Cadena SER’s programming in Latin America.

After this she worked as Leisure and Entertainment director at Prisacom, overseeing the creation of the leading Spanish language music site Los40.com. She then moved on to head up the film department at Radio Televisión Española in June 2010, remaining in this post until May 2013. Prior this, also at RTVE, she worked from October 2007 as Spanish Television Programmes Director.

During her time in charge of programmes at TVE she managed a solid team of professionals, who helped ensure public support and industry recognition for the channel’s current affairs shows, Spanish fiction series and high-quality entertainment shows, resulting in numerous awards and accolades.

Over the past two and a half years, Cebrián has retained her links to the media world as managing director and co-founder of the specialist audiovisual communication consultancy OnDemand Media, which operates in Spain and Mexico.

Before joining PRISA Radio, Cebrián was a creative consultant for the digital agency Social Noise and director of new projects and developments for Stage Entertainment Spain, a company that produces some of the world’s most successful musicals.
