Gala Ceremony for the 61st Annual Ondas Awards

Barcelona's Gran Teatro del Liceo last night played host once again to the Ondas Awards Gala Ceremony. The Ondas Awards, now in their 61st edition, pay tribute every year to excellence in radio, television, advertising and music.

The day of events kicked off at 1 pm with a reception for the winners at the Albéniz Palace and which featured the traditional meet-the-press session. On hand were Xavier Trias, Mayor of Barcelona, Juan Luis Cebrián, executive chairman of Grupo PRISA, José Luis Sainz, CEO of Grupo PRISA, Augusto Delkáder, president of PRISA Radio, Andres Cardo, CEO of PRISA Radio and Alejandro Nieto, managing director of PRISA Radio in Spain.

The red carpet was then rolled out to receive the winners at 7 pm, with the Gala commencing in earnest at 8 pm. Hosting the awards were Jesús Gallego and Macarena Berlin, and there were performances from Spandau Ballet, Joan Manuel Serrat, Malú, Silvia Pérez Cruz and Raul Fernández Miró, and Lang Lang.

This year saw Radio Barcelona (Cadena SER) handing out 26 awards to the most outstanding national and international professionals, companies and projects in radio, radio advertising, television and music (click here for the winners).
