IneveryCREA is launched, the creative community for education professionals

04-10-2011

The International Book Fair, Liber 2011, held between 5 and 7 October in Madrid, sees the launch of IneveryCREA, a web community where education professionals can create, develop and share original educational content that will give a enormous boost to their pedagogical and digital activity.

IneveryCREA is envisaged as a collaborative platform where educators at all levels of the education system will be able to share experiences and resources for integrating technology into the classroom, many of which have already been successfully applied to classroom teaching. The formula is based on a network of networks which, as well as having an intrinsic social function, is integrated via social sign on with existing social networks like Twitter, Facebook, etc. Teachers themselves will thus spread content through social connections with other platforms resulting in a wider dissemination  and greater recognition of their work.

This new tool will collect and demonstrate the efforts being made by teachers from all educational levels and areas in creating digital content. It also operates as a scalable network where each teacher can share and collaborate, or simply listen in and learn from the experiences of others and pick up content for use in their daily work. From the outset, it was seen as crucial the involvement of teachers whose good practice has been recognized both by the educational community as well as expert committees such as the "Comité a pié de Aula".

IneveryCREA has employed the most advanced technology in the development of this educational community. It is based on the GNOSS social software platform, which integrates in a single architecture, knowledge management, informal learning, collaborative work and social networks. It also utilizes Brigcove technology as a tool for quality social video and has the most powerful engine for generating resources for the classroom: the teachers themselves, who have already contributed more than 100 of their own resources in their subject areas.

The presentation of this new educational community will be held on Friday, October 7, at 12.30 pm at Liber Digital, a special space created by the book fair as a meeting point between contents, ideas and technologies. Angelica Suarez (IneveryCREA Product Manager) will offer a presentation titled Creativity in Education, which will focus on the new digital education context: create, innovate, share, communicate, collaborate ... and the importance of fostering a favorable environment for educational excellence and innovation.

IneveryCREA is a project sponsored by Santillana, the leading publisher of textbooks and general-interest books in Spain and Latin America. The company will also participate in LIBER's digital section with two presentations on the new technological environment. On Wednesday 5, at 5.30pm, the publishing house will address the urgency of change in the current educational model. Also, on Thursday 6, at 1pm, Iria Álvarez (Santillana Digital Business Trade Manager), will present The future is already here, a review of the shifts taking place in the book's value chain and future changes set to affect the publishing industry with the arrival in Spain of the big players in electronic distribution: Amazon, Google and Apple.
