Khalid Bin Thani Bin Abdullah Al Thani and Joseph Oughourlian appointed to PRISA board of directors

Khalid bin Thani bin Abdullah Al Thani joins the Board of Directors representing International Media Group S.à.rl, which subscribed to and paid the recent capital increase amounting to 64 million euros (announced by the company in November), giving it a 8.2% stake.

Meanwhile, Joseph Oughourlian will be representing Amber Capital, which has held shares in PRISA since 2010 and now has a 14% stake in the company, as announced a few weeks ago.

The same meeting approved the appointment of Board Member Jose Luis Leal Maldonado as member of the Audit Committee of the company.

Shk. Dr. Khalid bin Thani bin Abdullah Al Thani is a prominent Qatari businessman with diverse interests in banking, real estate, insurance, financial securities, healthcare, telecommunications, media, information technology, humanitarian services, education and travel industries. He is chairman of several listed companies in Qatar, as well as co-founder and benefactor of a number of non-profit organizations and business associations. In addition to his business interests, Shk. Dr. Khalid is an avid sports fan and a key benefactor of sports events and international and domestic sports associations.

Joseph Oughourlian is the founder of Amber Capital, as well as sole manager of Amber Global Opportunities Fund. He began his career at Société Général in Paris in 1994 before moving to New York to the equity derivatives division. In 1997 he became head of the Equity Arbitrage Proprietary Trading Desk of Société Générale in New York, and he subsequently set up Amber Fund in October 2001 with initial capital from the Bank. In November 2005, he cofounded Amber Capital in New York, which has seen rapid growth and now has a strong presence in Europe, with offices in London and Milan.

Oughourlian  earned his MBA from HEC Paris School of Business, holds an MSc in Economics from the University of Sorbonne, Paris and a BA in Economics, Law and Political Science from IEP Paris. He sits on the boards of of Cofide SpA (Benedetti family holding company) , Sorgente SpA (hydropower company in Padua, Italy) and AGBU (the world's largest Armenian charitable organization, based in New York).
