Nacho Azcoitia, Chief Digital Officer at PRISA Radio

Nacho Azcoitia (Ceuta, 1967) has been appointed Chief Digital Officer at PRISA Radio. Azcoitia is a professional with a successful track record of over twelve years in the digital sector. In 2000 he was appointed Commercial Director of Excite Spain, a year later he became sales director at MSN-Microsoft Iberia, where he stayed until 2006 when he was made General Manager of Yahoo! Spain and Italy.

After three years at the US multinational, he was appointed Managing Director of Carat Spain, where he strengthened the company's strategic focus. Until the end of 2011 he was the Chief Digital Sales Officer at Vocento. In his early career, he worked for Antena 3, Publiespaña/T5 and Onda Cero as Account Executive, Sales Manager and Sales Director respectively.

This appointment marks an important step in PRISA Radio‘s digital strategy, which is based on continuous innovation and a clear commitment to PRISA’s goal of transforming the Group into a consumer-oriented company via advanced technology.

Nacho Azcoitia holds a degree in Law and a Diploma in Business Administration from ICADE, a Masters in Business Management and Marketing from the Instituto de Empresa and a Masters in Advertising Management from the Universidad Complutense. Nacho will be reporting operationally to Javier Pons, CEO of PRISA Radio, and functionally to Kamal Bherwani, PRISA´s Chief Digital Officer.

The new Chief Digital Officer at PRISA Radio is replacing Javier Viroomal, who is joining the digital team developing and launching new products for all mobile and connected devices (Director of Mobility and Consumer Devices). Javier will be reporting to Rahul Puri, director of innovation and development at PRISA Digital, who is in charge of developing the Group’s new platform for content and users.
