New talents to strengthen Cadena SER’s lead

Pepa Bueno is to head the program "Hoy por Hoy" alongside Gemma Nierga..The journalist, and until yesterday TVE television news editor and presenter, will join the SER team from September, to co-direct and anchor Spain’s leading radio program.

 The signing of Pepa Bueno is part of an unprecedented revamp for the program. Pepa Bueno will be responsible for news, analysis and opinion while Gemma Nierga will oversee entertainment and participation. For the first time, two women will be at the helm of prime time radio.

 In this clear commitment to the future of radio, SER is also set to update the structure of news and entertainment in the evenings, extending the duration and renewing the content of programs. Carles Francino, Spain’s top radio presenter, is to lead the transformation, starting in September, with  “La Ventana”, the afternoon audience leader. It will now run till 8pm.

 On weekends, another in-house professional. Javier del Pino will present “A vivir que son dos días”. Del Pino is currently SER’s Washington correspondent.

 SER has a firm commitment to the evolution of the radio sector, through the continuous search for new radio and advertising content. As the country’s leading broadcaster, Cadena SER considers innovation and continuous improvement as part of its DNA. True to this principle, the SER team is looking forward to next season with a range of further innovations, to be announced in September at the launch of its 2012-2013 schedules.
