One Direction, Enrique Iglesias, Jason Derulo, David Bisbal, Malú and Antonio Orozco, lead the nominations for the 40 Principales Awards 2014, with 4 nominations each

40 Principales and Ballantine’s have tonight released the names of the nominees across twelve categories for the 2014 40 Principales Awards at a lavish gala held at Madrid’s Teatro Kapital. The event was hosted by the most popular voices of the Top 40 radio network, including Tony Aguilar, Dani Moreno 'El Gallo', Gema Hurtado, Xavi Martinez, Ingrid Sunyer, Antonio Castelo, David Broncano, Yonyi Arenas, Uri Sàbat, Daniela Blume, Cristina Boscá, Jorge Sánchez, Félix Castillo, Edu Naranjo and Óscar Martínez. Taking the stage were performers Auryn, Soraya, Ruth Lorenzo, Juan Magan, Sweet California, Lucy Paradise, Dvicio and Juan Magan. The event was attended by leading figures from the worlds of film, television and music.

40 Principales also took the opportunity to announce all the novelties in store for the upcoming season such as Dani Moreno 'El Gallo', who’s the new director and presenter of radio show  Anda Ya. Xavi Martinez will be presenting  Lo + 40 between 8pm and 9pm. There are new timeslots for the programs  Yu: no te pierdas nada (from 9pm to 11pm, Monday to Friday) and No te cortes (from 11pm to 1am, Monday to Friday). Plus turning shows from 40 Principales’s top DJs. The longest running program in Spanish music radio, the chart show  Del 40 al 1 will continue to be presented on Saturdays by Tony Aguilar. And weekend nights will continue to host the programs 40 Hot Mix with Edu Naranjo and World Dance Music  with Luis Lopez.

The 40 Principales Awards 2014 will be handed out at the awards gala to be held on December 12, 2014 at Madrid’s Barclaycard Center. The Awards are sponsored by Ballantine's, who are showing once again their commitment to the hottest national and international music.

The nominees for the 40 Principales Awards 2014 were selected from among those artists and records to be broadcast by the radio network at least once between October 1, 2013 and September 15, 2014.

The 40 Principales Awards, which every year pay tribute to the work of the most important artists of the year, are a benchmark for music-industry accolades nationally and internationally and are awarded by 40 Principales -- the leading music radio network in the Spanish-speaking market and present in 11 countries.
