Ratings published by Estudio General de Medios (EGM) consolidate PRISA Radio as the leader of the radio sector in Spain. Cadena SER has 4,785,000 daily listeners, maintaining its position as the top-ranking radio station in the country. All Cadena SER's programs are clear audience-share leaders in their respective daily slots, and all PRISA Radio’s music stations increase their audiences.
Almost 5 million faithful listeners listened Cadena SER in its programs this season, consolidating its robust lead in the Spanish radio sector. Cadena SER scores more than 2 million listeners than its nearest rival, and all its programs have improved their audience figures in comparison to the previous season.
Hoy por Hoy, presented by Pepa Bueno and Gemma Nierga, is once again radio’s most listened program with 3,132,000 listeners, increasing its season’s audience in 320,000. In the afternoons, Carles Francino obtains for La Ventana 880,000 listeners, clearly leading the afternoon radio slot, and increasing the season’s overall audience in 190,000 listeners. In the Spanish night-time slot, Hora 25, with Àngels Barceló, has also consolidated its first position with an increased figure of 1,352,000 listeners, while El Larguero, with José Ramón de la Morena, also consolidates its position among sport programs with 1,100,000.
Cadena SER is also front-runner station at the weekends. Javier del Pino’s program, A vivir que son dos días, is unrivaled leader in the weekend morning slot with almost 2 million listeners on both Saturdays and Sundays. This season, the program has increased its audience in more than 100,000 listeners on both days.
Carrusel Deportivo tops the league among sports programs at weekends. The show, presented by Manu Carreño and Antonio Ponseti, has also improved its results with 1,740,000 listeners on Saturdays and 1,890,000 on Sundays.
Leaders also in music
All PRISA Radio’s music stations also maintain top-ranking positions in Spain with improved results: 40 Principales is once again the most listened to music radio station in the country with 3,794,000, and the second country’s most listened to radio station. Cadena Dial is Spain’s second most popular music station, with 2,307,000 daily. Máxima FM continues to beat its own records and in this latest EGM survey has 878,000 listeners. M80 Radio has 687,000 listeners daily. Radiolé completes PRISA Radio’s catalogue in Spain with an audience of 521,000.
