Oscar Becerra, new General Manager of Prisa’s magazine division Prisa Revistas

Oscar Becerra has been appointed General Manager of Prisa Revistas. He will be responsible for publishing operations at Prisa’s magazines division that publishes the magazines and websites Rolling Stone, Cinemanía, Gentleman, Icon, Car, Claves and El Dominical, as well as a further thirty print and digital publications.

 

Becerra, who has a degree in Information Science and an MBA from the Instituto de Empresa, was until now General Manager for Business Development at Condé Nast Spain, and chief-editor of Conelpa, the company that publishes the Saturday supplement of El País, S Moda. Becerra has over 20 years’ experience as editor and publisher of media in Spain and France for a range of companies including Hachette , Grupo Zeta and Condé Nast . He was founder of the magazines Quo, Emprendedores, Public, Cuore y Be and editor of thirty magazines, including Paris Match, Photo, Woman, Télé 7 Jours and France Dimanche.

 

Becerra takes over from Joana Bonet, who has expressed her desire to leave Prisa Revistas to pursue other professional projects. However, Prisa has asked Bonet to remain on as editorial advisor for the launch of Icon, the new monthly men's magazine that will accompany EL PAÍS, a project that Bonet has brilliantly developed and overseen.
