Plural Entertainment´s Meu amor wins the International Emmy for best Telenovela

Portuguese TV series Meu Amor (My Love), broadcast by TVI and produced by Plural Entertainment Portugal, has won the Emmy Award for Best International Telenovela (soap opera) in New York. It's Portugal's first ever such win.

The CEO of TVI, João Cotrim Figueiredo, said after picking up the award: "This is a remarkable achievement in the history of Portuguese TV production and, more specifically, a milestone in the history of TVI and for Plural. It is a source of great pride for us all, and an important incentive for further innovation in this field. The whole Meu Amor team is delighted. "

The series aired from 19 October 2009 to October 23, 2010, with the series finale being the most watched episode, with an average audience of over 1.7 million viewers, which corresponded to a 66.2% share

The awards ceremony was attended by a number of the actors from series, including Alexandra Lencastre, Margarida Marinho, Rita Pereira and Paulo Pires, as well as the writer of the show, António Barreira, and the TVI presenter Cristina Ferreira.
