PRISA achieves continued membership in the FTSE4Good IBEX, the index of socially responsible companies

07-07-2010

The FTSE4Good IBEX, the index measuring the performance of companies that meet globally recognized corporate responsibility standards, has confirmed its certification of PRISA as a continued member of the index. This international index, managed by FTSE Group in cooperation with the Spanish Stock Exchanges and Markets (Bolsas y Mercados Españoles - BME) was founded in 2001 by the London Stock Exchange and launched in Spain in April 2008. In that year, PRISA was chosen along with a number of other companies to be included in the index, which was the first to measure CSR policies among Spanish companies in the BME's IBEX 35 Index and the FTSE Spain All Cap Index.

FTSE4GOOD certifies that, for the second consecutive year, PRISA meets the inclusion criteria on corporate social responsibility, human rights, the environment, social commitment and the fight against corruption that are evaluated by the index.

The FTSE4Good criteria are developed using a thorough consultation process with the market and are approved by a committee of independent experts. A wide range of stakeholders are involved in defining the eligibility criteria, including NGOs, government agencies, consultants, academics, the investment community and the business sector.

The FTSE4Good Index has become a globally recognized benchmark for those investors wishing to identify companies with responsible business practices.
