PRISA and Real Madrid sign an exclusive agreement to distribute mobile contents for the club in the Americas

PRISA and Real Madrid have reached an agreement whereby PRISA shall have the rights to distribute Real Madrid C.F.`s contents for mobile devices in the regions of North America and Latin America.

According to Mr. Kamal Bherwani, Chief Digital Officer of PRISA, "Real Madrid's brand recognition combined with the strength of PRISA's distribution capabilities in the Americas brings great content to soccer fans on the other side of the globe and opens up a broad range of possibilities for cooperation between the two parties."

The agreement is framed under PRISA's new strategy focused on launching and operating new digital initiatives, and demonstrates PRISA´s firm commitment in becoming a more globally-focused digital media company.

"This agreement allows us to offer our followers in the Americas the best mobile content and therefore reinforce our direct communication objective with our fans, wherever they are", states Mr. Pedro Duarte, Mobile Marketing Manager for Real Madrid CF."

Mobile telephones have become a major mean of access to digital content. It is estimated that worldwide there are now more than 5,3 billion handsets, of which approximately 940 million enable access to the Internet. Mobile telephone penetration exceeded 100% of the population in Spain a number of years ago, and in Latin America this figure has already reached 90% and is expected to reach 100% by 2012.

Nearly two million users accessed PRISA content via mobile device during the month of January, according to Omniture. Real Madrid has shown its leadership in Mobile marketing, distributing its digital content in more than 40 countries.
