PRISA Radio leads Spain’s radio industry

Ratings published by Estudio General de Medios (EGM) give Cadena SER 4,829,000 daily listeners, maintaining its position as the top-ranking radio station in the country. All Cadena SER's programs are clear audience-share leaders in their respective slots, and PRISA Radio’s music stations also maintain their first positions.

Almost 5 million faithful listeners approved changes introduced by Cadena SER in its programs this season, consolidating its robust lead in the Spanish radio sector. Cadena SER scores more than 2 million listeners than its nearest rival.

Hoy por Hoy, presented by Pepa Bueno and Gemma Nierga, is once again radio’s most listened program with 3,097,000 listeners, increasing its audience in more than 240,000. In the afternoons, Carles Francino obtains for La Ventana an audience record figure with 1,049,000, almost 220,000 more than same study last year. In the Spanish night-time slot, Hora 25, with Àngels Barceló, has also consolidated its position and widened its lead over its nearest rivals, with 1,343,000 listeners, while El Larguero, with José Ramón de la Morena, maintains its position among sport programs with 1,027,000.

Cadena SER is also front-runner station at the weekends. A vivir que son dos días, recently taken over by Javier del Pino, is unrivaled leader in the weekend morning slot with almost 2 million listeners on Saturdays and 1,580,000 listeners on Sundays.

Carrusel Deportivo tops the league among sports programs at weekends. The show, presented by Manu Carreño and Antonio Ponseti, has 1,585,000 listeners on Saturdays and 1,695,000 on Sundays.

Leaders also in music

PRISA Radio’s music stations also take top-ranking positions in Spain: 40 Principales is once again the most listened to music radio station in the country with 3,396,000. Cadena Dial is Spain’s second most popular music station, with 2,295,000. M80 Radio has 654,000 listeners daily. Máxima FM continues to beat its own records and in this latest EGM survey has 739,000 listeners. Radiolé completes PRISA Radio’s catalogue in Spain with an audience of 482,000.
