PRISA’s media outlets pass the half-million mark for iPhone application downloads

Users of iPhone and iPod Touch have downloaded over half a million native applications (apps) for PRISA's media outlets since last January, when ELPAÍS.com became the first online paper in Spain to launch its own. Unión Radio and the specialist press have subsequently followed suit.

LOS40.com is the users' favorite in terms of downloads -and its success is not just confined to Spain. The CINCODÍAS.com application is the first and only of its kind among the business and finance press in Spain, and the AS.com application has consolidated its position as a leading sports and multimedia application.

Prisacom, a PRISA company dedicated to developing the digital side of the business, has created specific applications for ELPAÍS.com, Los40.com, CadenaSER.com, AS.com, CincoDías.com, Máxima.fm, M80Radio.com , CadenaDIAL.com and Radiolé.com, which enable users to access the latest news and music quickly and easily from the screen of their mobile phone terminals.

Both downloading and accessing content are free. Users may access them via their usual internet wi-fi or 3g connection, through iTunes /AppStore or by means of their own terminal.
