Chile’s Fundación Todo Mejora (It gets better) paid tribute to the radio station for its professionalism in addressing issues of sexual diversity

At a ceremony held last night at the IF Teatro in Providencia, Chile’s Fundación Todo Mejora (It gets better) held its 3rd Todo Mejora Awards 2015, which honors public figures and political, social, and cultural  institutions whose work has helped ensure the safety, visibility and well being of LGBT youth.

On this occasion, Radio ADN was singled out the only winner among the media to address, in a responsible and serious manner, issues related to sexual diversity and LGBT people. "We laud and greatly value the responsible manner in which they deal with issues related to sexual diversity and how this work helps to foster and promote cultural change that will lead to a more respectful and inclusive Chile," the foundation said.

In response to this tribute, ADN director, Carlos Costas said: "ADN is a radio station that was born seven years ago and, which at the outset, understood  that Chile had changed and that our society demanded points of view that were more inclusive, open and tolerant. We truly value this award as recognition of  these efforts."

Representing the radio station at the event was Carlos Costas, accompanied by Eduardo Fuentes, host of the program "Ciudadano ADN" and Javiera Ballacey, head of communications at Ibero Americana Radio Chile.

Other prize winners included the Government Spokesperson, Minister Alvaro Elizalde, the TV host Karen Doggenweiler, and the cast and writers of the TV series Mamá Mechona.

Entertainment was provided by actress Natalia Valdebenito, the singer and ambassador of the foundation, Francisca Valenzuela, musician Manuel García and newcomer (Me llamo) Sebastian.

"Radio ADN has always been characterized by its willingness to address issues of national interest, with a critical eye but in language that appeals to listeners. And this commitment is clear when addressing issues related to sexual diversity and LGBT persons, which it does in responsible language ". - Chile’s Fundación Todo Mejora
