Santillana considered the best publishing company at 'ExLibris', the third International Week of the Arts

Santillana, reconocida como mejor empresa editorial en la III Semana Internacional de las Letras 'ExLibris'

Santillana has received the Publishing Award at 'ExLibris', the third International Week of the Arts held between 21 and 27 September in Murcia. The organising committee took into consideration the group's extensive experience, its international reach and its contribution to people's educational and social development.

Managing Director of Santillana, Javier Caso, and the manager of Santillana's branch office in Murcia, José Guillén, were entrusted with representing the company at the award ceremony, which took place remotely through communication technologies due to the Covid-19 healthcare emergency situation.

In his speech, Javier Caso wished to thank the families and, particularly, teachers for the huge effortthey have made in these recent months of remote learning, in which they have had to adapt to a tremendous change in a very short space of time.

Caso explained that Santillana has provided educational resources and tools, in both Spain and Latin America, to support them in this challenge and highlighted that all those who form part of the company are determined to ensure that learning never stops.

The award ceremony was inaugurated by Victorio Melgarejo, the director of the third International Week of the Arts, while Juan Antonio Lorca, the Regional Secretary for Culture for the Murcia region, closed the event.

In addition to Santillana, ExLibris honoured the Spanish National Library with the Fostering Reading Award and Soledad Puértolas with the International Arts Award. The Madrid-based writer said that she was very pleasedto share this award with the other two award winners. I have two children who are at school and I know what Santillana has meant and what it continues to mean for the world of teaching, she said.
