Santillana, Screen 21 and Plural Entertainment team up to create the series mica

23-09-2011

The series will consist of 52 episodes in High Definition 3D and will be based on the publisher's popular Spanish character created for preschoolers

Mica, the popular character created by the publishing house Editorial Santillana for preschoolers, will make the leap to the small screen as an animated TV series thanks to producers Screen 21 and Plural Entertainment. The series Mica will be made in the most advanced High Definition 3D, and BRB Internacional will unveil the agreement at the next edition of MIP JR and MIPCOM in Cannes in early October.

Aimed at children between 3 and 6 years of age, the series Mica (52x7 ') will focus on the title little girl and her friends, Daniel and Julia. The cheerful and outgoing six-year-old Mica, who sees life as full of exciting challenges rather than problems, will face daily situations with a broad smile and tons of enthusiasm. At home, in the street or at school, little Mica always manages to turn small daily routines into fun adventures. And Mica has a great little secret for the series: Lio, the funny creature from the books who lives in a van in the garden.

Mica had her first adventure in 2009, and is a creation of Santillana. "She's the central character of a publishing project, Mica and her friends, aimed at the pre-primary education level. Thanks to the success of this educational material, Mica has become a beloved character for thousands of children aged 3 to 5, who have followed her adventures through the gestures and voices of their teachers," explains Enric Juan, Director of Global Education Content at Santillana.
