The Galician Association of Psychologists awards Gemma Nierga

The Official Galician Association of Psychologists (Galicia, Spain) has bestowed Gemma Nierga, director of Cadena SER´s program La Ventana, with the Dolores Llópiz award for Psychology and Society, for the shows she leads ´Nikosia´ and ´The Prison Talk Show´ and for “the commitment and sensitivity she has demonstrated for years towards these minority groups through La Ventana”.

The Association values “the enormous work in visibilization and destigmatization” carried out in her programme by giving these groups a voice. In Nierga´s opinion, “handing them over the microphones allows to break down, or at least make more permeable, the walls that, imaginary or not, separate them from society”.

For the Galician psychologists, La Ventana is “not only a vehicle for communication, but also a way of working towards an ever so needed integration”.
