The Huffington Post launches in Spanish

04-06-2012

El Huffington Post, the Spanish-language version of the popular U.S. news and opinion portal, created by Arianna Huffington in 2005, is to be launched on Thursday, June 7. On hand for the official presentation will be Arianna Huffington, president of the Huffington Post Media Group, Juan Luis Cebrian, Editor-in-Chief of El Pais and CEO of PRISA, and Montserrat Dominguez, the Editor-in-Chief of this new media outlet. All three will participate in a debate, chaired by journalist Toni Garrido, and the event will be attended by a number of Spain’s most prominent and influential journalists and bloggers. The event takes place at the Espacio Fundación Telefónica at 12:30 pm.

El Huffington Post, in which PRISA Noticias, publisher of El Pais, and The Huffington Post, each hold a 50% stake, will have its own editorial team that will bring together the media experience of PRISA, the leading news and media group in Spanish, and the successful Huffington formula that combines original content with a broad network of blogs, news aggregation and the massive participation of users, the hallmarks of this globally recognized brand. El Huffington Post will be a fresh and innovative take on news and views on current affairs, politics, technology, culture, entertainment and lifestyles.

The launch of El Huffington Post can be followed via Twitter (@ ElHuffPost) and Facebook (Facebook.com / ElHuffingtonPost).
