EL PAÍS at the Pontifical University of Salamanca

10-03-2014

In keeping with its policy of forging stronger links to society and to play an active role in its social milieu, EL PAÍS is to run, for yet another year, the program EL PAÍS at your University. Journalists from the newspaper will be visiting a number of Spanish universities to help students and non-students alike understand the day-to-day work of the daily paper. On Wednesday March 12, the Pontifical University of Salamanca will host the first such event of 2014.

María Fabra, a journalist specializing in court reports, will open the day with her session Adrenaline and caution in cases of corruption: Nóos and Gürtel. Meanwhile, Jorge Martin, CFO of Prisa Noticias, will discuss the challenges of management in a news and  information company. Afterwards, Ignacio Cembrero will give a talk on Immigration: the pressure from Africa and the day will be closed by the sports editor at EL PAÍS, José Samano, with his session titled with Reporting on sport, a contemporary epic.

The talks will be held at the Faculty of Communications at the Pontifical University of Salamanca (Henry Collet, 90-98) and admission is free until all places have been taken. Furthermore, the event can be followed and discussed on Twitter with the hashtag # ELPAÍSentuuniversidad.
