EL PAÍS VÍDEO y LIBROTEA ganan en los premios Laus

EL PAÍS VIDEO (EPV) and Librotea have been honored with a Laus Award, given by the Association of Graphic Designers and Art Directors of FAD (ADG-FAD) for half a century.

Erretres, the agency that teamed up with EL PAÍS for two digital projects, won the award for design excellence. And design in these online times means making it easier for readers to find the information they’re interested in.

In the case of EPV, a click on this link, will take you to the latest and most important videos published by EL PAÍS. The structure is very simple. On the top bar you’ll see seven tabs: News, Leisure and Culture, Sports, Science, Technology, Lifestyle and 40!, the latter being dedicated to everything we are doing in video to celebrate our 40th anniversary with you. As you scroll down, you’ll see that the videos are divided into two groups: most viewed, ie the ones which EL PAÍS readers have clicked on most, and the latest videos, given over to breaking news stories.

Librotea offers an online journey to be truly savored. On the home page, you’ll find a menu on how to subscribe. If you have a Facebook account, this is automatic. If not, simply create an account that requires some very basic information: name, email and password. Scrolling down, you'll find a short video, explaining everything you can do with Librotea, a book recommendation service, in which critics from Babelia and leading cultural figures will share their favorite books.

If you get deeper into the page, you’ll soon discover some of the big names: Mario Vargas Llosa, Sara Mesa, Santiago Roncagliolo, Leonor Watling and youtubers Never Be Hopeless. By clicking on their name or picture, you can browse their shelves and discover their literary recommendations. You can even follow them and, if you are registered, click ‘like’ on their profile. Of course, you can also create your own virtual bookshelf on your own profile, with all those books that you think should be shared.
