Cadena SER presents its 2012-2013 season with a profound remodeling of its programming

03-09-2012

4.652.000 people listen to Cadena SER every day and its intention is to offer them now an even better product, as stated by SER´s Director-General , Alejandro Nieto. “In these times it´s more important than ever to offer citizens a clear, vivid message, along with arguments that allow them to construct a personal interpretation of what´s happening. Today we have launched a programming that is coherent, peaceful, attractive and adapted to our times. The digital world is not a threat, but an opportunity. The digital world is not the future, but the present. We invite listeners to listen to life with us, at any time of the day. We want our strong radio presence to serve as a platform for citizens to meet and debate”

This new season, SER is reinventing itself through leadership. Pepa Bueno and Gemma Nierga will present ´Hoy por Hoy´, meaning two women will be at the head of prime time radio. Pepa Bueno will be in charge of the news, analysis and opinion, while Gemma Nierga will take up the entertainment part; ultimately, a program that will not only be fresher and closer to current affairs, but with a more flexible structure.

- Pepa Bueno: “I believe in the responsibility with society that journalism must have. I´ve come to a House that defends rigorous journalism, with an even greater vocation because of its leading status. That´s the journalism I believe in. The one I admire”.

-Gemma Nierga: We´re going to do seven hours a day of journalism. Today was our first day and I believe that this combination is going to produce great results”.

´La Ventana´, with Carles Francino, will now be an hour longer and will exceed the current afternoon talk show format. “It´s important to open doors to the big issues”, stated Francino.

-Carles Francino: “I don´t know how to live, nor communicate, without having a direct contact with current affairs. I ´ll offer entertainment and humor, while never leaving aside what´s happening in the world, because it´s something that never stops”.

Another distinguished innovation is 'A Vivir que son dos días', with Javier del Pino, straight from Washington (where he was SER´s correspondant) to present the weekend morning show.

- Javier del Pino: “I´m going to try to bring color to the weekend”

'Hora 25', 40  years of radio journalism

Àngels Barceló will continue presenting the nightly news show 'Hora 25', a program that has been on the air for 40 years now.

- Àngels Barceló: “Radio must now carry out an important role in this divorce that now exists between politicians and citizens"

Continuity in Cadena SER sports

Sports radio, the other great Cadena SER seal of identity, pledges its commitment to continue being the best. 'El Larguero', with José Ramón de la Morena, has a new theme song by ´Estopa´, it´s principal change.

- De la Morena: “It´s good news that in these times the paso doble is the one being changed and not the bullfighter”, in reference to the only change in his program, the theme song.

'Carrusel Deportivo', with Manu Carreño and Ponseti, in despite of the time changes of first division games, will maintain its usual weekend time slot.

- Manu Carreño: “To be a sports journalist right now with these sports players we have… is a real deal; everything they touch turns to gold. Without a doubt, the best news is the radio´s return back to the stadiums”.

- Ponseti: “It fills me with pride to be able to have worked for a whole year now with the magnificent Cadena SER sports team”.

The sports programming on SER completes itself with SER Deportivos, presented by Jesús Gallego. This season it will air from 15:10 t0 15:30 and on Hora 25 de los Deportes, conducted by Francisco José Delgado.

At 10:00, 11:00, 13:00, 16:00, 17:00 and 18:00 SER listeners can be informed about the latest news taking place in their region. ´Hora 14´with José Antonio Marcos, Hora 25 at 20:00 with Pedro Blanco, weekends with Esther Bazán and the 300 professionals that make up the News Services will be in charge of maintaining the prestige consolidated by SER as a news landmark.

'Hablar por Hablar', with Macarena Berlín, 'La Script', with María Guerra, SER Reporteros, 'El Mundo Today', SER Consumidor, Notas de Cine, 'SER Historia', 'Los Toros', with Manolo Molés, 'SER Aventureros', 'Milenio 3' and 'Punto de Fuga' complete this new  Cadena SER season.
