Presentation of the Premios Dial 2011 music awards

Radio network Cadena Dial has announced the winners of the Premios Dial Music Awards 2011 at a press conference. The awards honor the best of music in spanish. This year’s winners include Laura Pausini, Maná, Pastora Soler, Malú, Estopa, Pitingo, Luis Fonsi, Pablo Alborán, India Martinez, Hugo Salazar, Amaia Montero and Antonio Orozo.

The awards gala ceremony will be presented by Oscar Martinez, director of Cadena Dial show 'Atrevete' and Carmen Ramirez, and will be held at the Adan Martin Auditorium in Santa Cruz de Tenerife on Tuesday, February 22. The event will be broadcast  by Televisión Canaria and Cuatro TV, via  streaming at cadenadial.com and by the radio stations in the eight countries where PRISA’s radio network operates: Cadena Dial in Spain and America; Besame FM in Colombia, Mexico, Costa Rica and Panama; Imagina in Argentina; Corazon Chile and Radio Caracol USA. The ceremony will also be broadcast by 40TV in Spain and by A & E, the  cable television network that reaches over 40 million homes in Latin America.

Participating in the press conference were Alejandro Nieto, general manager of PRISA Radio Spain, Ricardo Melchior Navarro, president of Tenerife’s regional authority, Jordi Finazzi, general manager of PRISA Musica, Carlos Alonso Rodriguez, vice president and Minister of Tourism for Tenerife’s regional authority; and Ricardo Fernandez de la Puente Armas, Deputy Minister of Tourism, for the regional government of the Canary Islands.

Alejandro Nieto, recalled that the audience rating bureau, “EGM shows that listeners are tuning in and are in tune with Cadena Dial,” with figures showing the network has more than two million listeners. The head of PRISA Radio in Spain stressed that "after 20 years, our commitment to our artists is as strong as ever."

Ricardo Melchior, president of Tenerife’s regional authority, after congratulating the winning artists, recalled that "Tenerife is a meeting point between Europe and America, an island with a great musical culture.” Proof of that is the fact that for sixth consecutive year the radio network will be hosting the awards gala on the island..

The general manager of PRISA Musica, Jordi Finazzi, highlighted the work of Cadena Dial as a promoter of music in Spanish, adding that "the goal of PRISA Musica is to bring Spanish-language music to everywhere we operate" .

The press conference was also attended by some of the winners, including Pastora Soler, Malú, Estopa, Pitingo, India Martínez, Hugo Salazar y Amaia Montero, as well as Andy & Lucas and Sergio Dalma, who will be performing at the gala.

Another novelty this year is that the proceeds from ticket sales for the Premios Dial Awards Gala 2011, will go to the NGO "Caritas Santa Cruz de Tenerife" and the “Fundación Tutelar Sonsoles Soriano”
