Winners of Cadena DIAL Awards 2013 announced, the awards honor music in Spanish

This year’s winner include Carlos Santana, Carlos Vives, Rosario, Luz, Pablo López, Malú, Antonio Orozco, Cali&El Dandee, India Martínez, Carlos Rivera, Cristian Castro, Sergio Dalma, Manuel Carrasco, Franco de Vita, Tamara, Rozalén and David DeMaría

Cadena Dial and ‘Castilla y León es vida' today announced at a press conference the winners of the Cadena Dial Awards 2013, the most important prizes for music in Spanish Music. This year’s big winners included Rosario, Luz, Pablo López, Malú, Carlos Santana, Cali&El Dandee, India Martínez, Carlos Vives, Carlos Rivera, Cristian Castro, Sergio Dalma, Manuel Carrasco, Antonio Orozco, Franco de Vita, Tamara, Rozalén and David DeMaría. Cadena SER journalist Manu Carreño received the special award 'Arts, culture and sport'- 

The gala awards ceremony for the 2013 Cadena Dial Awards, to be presented by Jaime Cantizano, program director of the Cadena Dial show  ‘Atrévete' and Carmen Ramirez, will be held at the Auditorio Miguel Delibes in Valladolid on March 7. The gala will feature performances by David Bisbal, Rosario, Luz, Pablo López, Malú, Cali&El Dandee, India Martínez, Carlos Vives, Carlos Rivera, Cristian Castro, Sergio Dalma, Manuel Carrasco, Antonio Orozco, Franco de Vita, Tamara, Rozalén, David DeMaría, Merche and Salvador Beltrán

Speaking at the press conference were: Alejandro Nieto, managing director of PRISA Radio Spain; Sandra Rotondo, managing director of PRISA Radio’s music division; Juan Carlos Chaves, director of Music Channels at PRISA Radio Spain; and Alicia García Rodríguez, Secretary of Culture and Tourism for Castilla y León’s regional government. 

Alejandro Nieto was keen to highlight the new venue for this year’s awards gala: "After many years enjoying a wonderful welcome in the Canaries and the warmth of its people, Cadena Dial, a network that is present throughout the entire country, has decided to open up to the rest of Spain and bring these awards to everyone who lives and feels music in Spanish." 

Sandra Rotondo, meanwhile, stressed the international impact of the awards: "Once again, we are going to use the full potential of PRISA Radio in Latin America to create a greater awareness of music in Spanish. We will use our network of stations in 11 countries, and the Gala will be broadcast on the cable channel E! Entertainment, which reaches 35 million subscriber households." 

Alicia García Rodríguez  said she was confident that "hosting the gala in Valladolid will make Castilla y León an international showcase for radio. This gala will bring together Castilla y León, cradle of the Spanish language, with the most important prizes for music in Spanish; music and our important artistic heritage will go hand in hand." 

Finally, Juan Carlos Chaves underlined the support of the radio network for the sector: "Despite the crisis in the music industry, at Cadena Dial we will remain committed to supporting music in Spanish and our artists”. He pointed out that out over the past seventeen years, the most important artists of Spanish-language music had taken the stage at these Awards.

Proceeds from the Cadena Dial Awards Gala 2013 will go to the Juan Soñador Foundation and its project `Crecer y Soñar’ (Growing and Dreaming).
