Alejandro Sanz and Pablo Alborán lead the list of nominees for the 40 Principales Awards 2012 with four nominations each, followed by Estopa and Macaco, who have been nominated in three categories. Click on the news story for all the other nominees!
Behind them, with two nominations, are Auryn, Melendi, Carlos Jean, Efecto Pasillo and La Oreja de Van Gogh.. Completing the list are Chila Lynn, José de Rico & Henry Méndez, Juan Magán, Lagarto Amarillo, Maldita Nerea and Xuso Jones with a nomination each.
In the international categories, frontrunners include Cali y el Dandee and Maroon 5, with three nominations, followed by Carly Rae Jepsen, David Guetta, Flo Rida and Gotye with two. Completing the list are Adele, Alicia Keys, Coldplay, Crossfire, Fun, Jennifer Lopez, Juanes, Loreen, Nicki Minaj, One Direction, Pitbull, Rihanna, Shakira, Sie7e, Tacabro and Taylor Swift with a nomination each.
Voting opens at midnight on November 17, 2012 and closes 11.59pm (23:59) on January 4, 2013 at www.los40.com.
The 40 Principales Awards 2012 will be presented at a gala ceremony to be held on January 24, 2013 at the Palacio de Deportes de la Comunidad de Madrid.. The Awards are sponsored by Ballantine's, committed once again to the hottest national and international music.
Net proceeds from the sale of tickets for the gala will go to the project "Lights for Learning", organized by the Organization of Ibero-American States, and will go towards a project to bring electricity and internet to more than 66,000 rural schools in Latin America.
